Jack Richman

Jack is a Boston and New York City-based musician specializing in musical theater songwriting and music direction. They are currently studying Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music, with minors in Musical Theater Writing and Conducting: Music Direction for Theater. Jack has music directed various shows, including Willy Wonka Jr. (Gateway Playhouse), Shows About Shows (The Broadway Band), Curtain Up 2024 (Berklee), Chicago (Cultural Arts Playhouse), and Pinkalicious (John W. Engeman). As a writer, Jack is currently developing a new musical with collaborator Katie Nieto, Athanasia.

Bella Dimichino

Bella Dimichino is in her final semester at Berklee College of Music studying Music Education, Music Therapy, and Songwriting. Although her primary instrument is voice, Bella is also experienced in Percussion where she is currently in ensembles/pit orchestras, including this semester’s Broadway Band Orchestral Show, Night at the Movies. She has previously produced/directed as well as sung with the club, and is the acting Vice President and Treasurer. Bella is proud of how far the Broadway Band has grown since her first semester and is thrilled to be a part of such a diligent community of musicians.

Henry Roseman (class of '25) is a pianist, music director, orchestrator/arranger, copyist, and keyboard programmer. During his tenure with the Broadway Band, he has been an orchestrator, copyist, music supervisor, keyboard programmer, music coordinator, and music director. Since music directing his first show in 8th grade, Henry has been a part of more than 30 theatrical productions, events, and concerts including: The Queen of Versailles (Music Assistant/Keyboard 2 Sub), Gatsby at the ART (Keyboard 2 Sub), Evita at the ART (Keyboard 3), School of Rock (Keyboard 1), Tarzan (Keyboard 1), Symphonic Anime at Boston Symphony Hall (Keyboard 2).

Noah Phillips is a music director, collaborative pianist, arranger/orchestrator, and copyist. Hailing from Lima, Ohio, Noah studies Musical Theatre Conducting and Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music, where he is a senior. Credits as a pianist and music director include Pippin, Next To Normal, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Spring Awakening, and Sweet Charity.

Jayla McLennan

Jayla is a Boston-based theatre Music Director and pianist originating from Melbourne, Australia. She music directed her first show, The Wiz, at the age of 16. Since then, she has been the Music Director and/or keys player for countless shows across Boston and Melbourne, including Jack Frost the Musical (Australian Premiere), Gilligan’s Island the Musical (Australian Premiere), the Drowsy Chaperone, and more. She is currently studying Contemporary Writing & Production and minoring in Theatre Music Direction, and will be graduating in December, 2024.

Jorden Amir

Jorden Amir is an NYC based multi-instrumentalist, accompanist, and orchestrator/arranger. Currently at Berklee College of Music, Jorden’s is the creator, producer, and music director of the Concert Series’ “What If?.” Playing piano and violin since a very young age, he’s embraced the musical theater genre through the years as a pit musician and music director for many productions, with a diverse repertoire of classic and more modern shows. He served as music director for numerous musicals, with favorites including Xanadu, Carrie, Something Rotten, and more, as well as off-Broadway stage readings and concerts. He also worked as the AMD for ‘Mazzoni Center Honors Stephen Schwartz’ (with Lizzy McAlpine and more), a Music Assistant for Netflix’s ‘Leo’ (2023), and as an MD and Producer at 54 Below.

Ash Kraus

Ash Kraus (she/her) is a Music Education major and clarinet principle who has been involved with the Broadway Band since the Fall of 2023. She played the Reed 2 book in the Fall 2023 Orchestral Show, produced and played the Reed 2 book in the Spring 2024 Unplugged Show, and will be producing/directing the Fall 2024 Orchestral Show as well as playing the Reed 2 book in the Fall 2024 Unplugged Show. Outside of the Broadway Band, Ash is the Music Director for the SuperHuman Arts Fall 2024 production, and teaches for the Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education.

Alex Franklin is a vocalist, music director, pianist, and orchestrator from Westford, MA. He is currently in his last at Berklee College of Music, studying Contemporary Writing and Production, Recording and Production, and Musical Theater Conducting. Alex has been a part of Broadway Band since his second semester, and has loved every moment of it! Recent music directing credits include Bare, Three Courses, Curtain Up, Seussical, Lightning Thief, and Annie.

Bella Johnson is a Music Education Major at Berklee College of Music, and currently serves as the Unplugged Director/Producer for The Broadway Band. She was the Stage Manager for the BMTC Fall 2024 Gala, and is Assistant Stage Managing both "Dreamgirls" at the Boston Conservatory and the SuperHuman Arts Fall 2024 production. Most recently, Bella played Ens 2 in Olivia Barron's "Autobiography of Red." With a deep passion for the arts, she looks forward to continuing her collaborations with fellow artists, and exploring new projects!

Cort plays trumpet and piano, is a music director, a composer, an orchestrator, and is currently the longest standing member of the broadway band.

Jeri Sykes
FACULTY ADVISOR
Jeri Sykes is a reed doubler, composer, arranger/orchestrator and lighting designer. She has played woodwinds in pit orchestras for hundreds of shows all over New England, and has worked as a performer/arranger with the bands Lawsuit and Preoccupied Pipers. Her orchestration projects include Born To Do This, Neolithic Fairytales, Paragon Park: The Musical, and Robin Hood: The Truth of Maid Marian. She is a Professor at Berklee College of Music, teaching arranging and orchestration, and is a co-director of Berklee’s annual Curtain Up festival of new theatre music.

Xander Dawson
REED 2
(he/him)
Xander Dawson is a saxophonist and woodwind doubler based in Boston, Massachusetts. He started playing saxophone at age ten and instantly fell in love with the instrument. He has performed as a woodwind doubler in many venues, from concert halls to luxury cruise ships. Recently, he held the reed chair aboard the Azamara Quest and has served as the company manager aboard EXPLORA 1, the first ship in the Explora Journeys fleet. For him, music is about sharing and uplifting stories and unique experiences to make sure that everyone has their voice heard.

Stephen Guerra

Stephen Guerra is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger studying jazz composition and drum set performance at Berklee College of Music. He plays a plethora of instruments, spanning the percussion, woodwind, brass, and string families. He composes and performs in many styles from all over the globe, including jazz, funk, rock, latin, balkan, African and much more! He is very excited to continue in his 7th semester orchestrating and playing in the Broadway Band on the Reed 3 book (Bari Sax, Bass Clarinet, Flute, Bassoon, Clarinet, Tenor Sax).

Colin is a trombonist from Long Island, NY who is majoring in both Music Education and Performance at Berklee. He performs a wide variety of genres, including classical, jazz, pop, rock, and musical theatre. In addition to being a member of The Broadway Band for five semesters, he has also performed with BU on Broadway, BMTC, Curtain Up, and BoCo's Musical Theater Division.

While not producing and engineering, Jake plays guitar in musical theater settings such as the Broadway Band, Curtain Up, and other pits in the Boston/Greater Boston area. He also arranges and orchestrates for the Broadway Band Orchestral show.

Being a conduit for emotion and awareness through the bass has always been a goal for Jan Portisch. Through his open-minded approach and putting "music first" he is quick to adapt in any musical environment. Having explored a multitude of genres like classical music, rock, R&B, contemporary jazz, free improvisation and many non-western styles, make him an experienced and well-rounded addition to any ensemble. After studying in Weimar and Köln, he now further expands his musical understanding at Berklee College of Music Majoring in Music Therapy and Performance, minoring in Psychology, while also being part of the Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice, the Global Jazz Institute and Berklee's Interdisciplinary Arts Institute, aiming to take his music beyond pure entertainment.

Maddie Cook

Maddie Cook is in her 3rd semester at Berklee! She fell in love with performing when she was 6 and since then has been in over 45 musicals with over 150 performances in a range of lead, support, and ensemble roles. She has been known to dabble with the french horn, piano, and ukulele. Maddie is an active leader in nonprofit and musical theater communities both back home (New York) and in Boston. She is the former Chief Financial Officer and current Board Member of Stories for Success (nonprofit) and is currently the Executive Producer of the Berklee Musical Theater Club.

Alyse Negroni is a sophomore musical theater major at Boston Conservatory. She won the 2023 ASU Gammage HSMTA Best Lead Female for her role as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde in Arizona. This allowed her to be a nominee at the 2023 Jimmy Awards in New York. She has co-choreographed productions of Legally Blonde, Matilda and she has competed in multiple pageants systems for 14 years. Based in Boston, Massachusetts and Minneapolis, Minnesota, Celia Sieckert is a classically trained cellist currently pursuing a degree in Performance at Berklee College of Music. She has performed as an orchestra member, chamber musician, and soloist in a variety of genres, ranging from standard symphonic works and concertos to musical pit orchestras and improvised singer-songwriter accompaniments. Celia’s theater credits (so far!) include Bright Star, Once, Anastasia, Carrie, and Pippin.

Johnny Levine is an upright and electric bass player from San Diego, California. His passion for music began from listening to classic rock and metal on the radio, as well as playing in school orchestras since he was very young. Johnny has experience in many styles of music, ranging from rock and heavy metal, to jazz, funk and R&B, and to classical and chamber music. He always has a blast playing with his fellow musicians and hopes to do so as long as he is around.

Nancy Madonna is a passionate musical theater performer majoring in Songwriting at Berklee College of Music, where she’s set to graduate in May 2025. Known for her dynamic and emotive performances, she captivates audiences with her depth and creativity. Beyond the stage, Nancy is an accomplished songwriter, with her debut album slated for release in 2025. Currently, she’s co-writing a musical. Following graduation, Nancy plans to make her mark on the NYC musical theater scene, eager to share her voice and artistry with a wider audience.

Joey Madison is a soulful artist whose music blends soul, funk, and jazz, creating a unique sound that reflects her passion and authenticity. Joey's musical theater journey began with standout roles, including Fiona in Shrek the Musical and Deloris in Sister Act, where she brought her dynamic presence and powerful vocals to the stage. As a songwriter her music delves into themes of love and self-discovery, drawing from personal experiences. A Berklee College of Music student, Joey has performed on iconic stages like MGM Music Hall Fenway and shared the spotlight with artists like Allen Stone.

Ellen is a Massachusetts based musical theater performer and music educator currently pursuing a degree in Music Education with a minor in Musical Theater Performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She is also the President and current Co-Director for SuperHuman Arts, another Berklee musical theater club whose goal is to highlight gender-marginalized people in theater. Ellen will be graduating in Spring of 2025 and looks forward to sharing her passions with others!

Lucy Stearns is thrilled to be back in The Broadway Band this semester, after performing as a vocalist in "Unplugged" last spring! She is originally from Seattle, WA, and is currently in her fifth semester and last year at Berklee, majoring in Professional Music with concentrations in Musical Theater and Music Business. Highlights from the past few years for her have been in The BMTC Gala (featured vocalist), Olivia Barron's "Autobiography of Red" (Ens 1), Asher Shectman and Benji Hafetz-Price's "Goodbye, Nyle" (Lucy). She sends all her love and gratitude to her friends and family, and the entire Broadway Band team!

Ashton Williams

Ashton Williams is currently a Musical Theatre student at the Boston Conservatory in his 2nd year. Some of his favorite shows he has been a part of are Jesus Christ Superstar, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Next to Normal, and Into the Woods. Fun Fact: Ashton once got lost in a Hallmark store at the age of 4. Don't worry, he escaped.
